Surgical Hair Transplant | Rejuva Aesthetica

Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that moves hair follicles from a part of the body called the 'donor site' to a bald or balding part of the body known as the 'recipient site'. It is primarily used to treat male pattern baldness. In this minimally invasive procedure, grafts containing hair follicles that are genetically resistant to balding, (like the back of the head) are transplanted to the bald scalp.

How Do Hair Transplants Work?

A hair transplant is a procedure that treats balding by moving better quality hair follicles from one area in order to restore hair in the balding areas. Hair transplantation involves the harvesting of hair follicles from donor areas where hair is not prone to baldness. The donor area is normally located on the back or sides of the head in typical male patterned baldness although hair can be taken from any part of the body such as the beard, torso and extremities. The hair grafts AKA follicular units should be harvested and transplanted in naturally occurring follicular units in order to restore the balding area with the most natural looking results.
